So Fridays are the new blog days around here. I drop my kids off at school, make a latte and get to work.
For the first Friday of February here are some of my “random” thoughts for the month.
For Christmas my sweet husband got me an espresso machine. I have mastered my lattes. I no longer have to go to that famous coffee shop for one. BEST. PRESENT. EVER! I am obsessed with my coffee these days. You might even say a tad bit over caffeinated. My newest goal is latte art with the milk foam. Right now I can do a jelly fish (aka blob). The kids ask me every time what I am going to make, they get a big kick out of my blobs.
Has anyone read “Gone Girl”? My book club read this last month. What a trippy book. It gets in your head. Find a friend to read it with so you can discuss!
Wild flowers and Almond blossoms are around the corner. I am making plans for some photo shoots. Can’t wait to go out and get it done.
I am considering changing from using discs to zip drives. I don’t think there will be many computers with disc drives anymore and I want my brides to have the easiest access to their pictures. I will probably always offer a disc/zip drive to my clients. I want you to have your pictures. Of course I want to make high quality prints for you. But what really matters is that you have a digital copy of your album for ever. I got married in the era of film photography. Wow! That makes me sound older than I am! But my photographer didn’t offer the negatives with my package. I wish now, I had them. I would advise any bride and groom to always get you copy of you negatives, digital or other. That’s why I offer full resolution as well. What good is it going to do your grandchildren at your 50th wedding anniversary to blow up a picture to a 5X7 size? You are hiring me to capture the day, all the details and make it beautiful and get it back to you. I don’t need to store these pictures. They are yours to enjoy for the rest of your life.
I have been making a smoothie with kiwis, pineapple, spinach, fresh squeezed orange juice, plain Greek yogurt and chia seeds. It originally called for banana, but I don’t like those. Anyways, talk about yummy. It’s so filling. If I have it at lunch I don’t get hungry before dinner. This is amazing for me. It’s the chia seeds; they are so good for you.
The last few days my husband has been home he has been cooking and I have been doing the cleaning. I really like this arrangement. I don’t mind doing the dishes when I haven’t been the one making them dirty. It helps too that I sit and watch him cook with a glass of wine.
I, by no means, am a beauty blogger, but I wanted to share two skin care “secrets” with you that have worked for me. The first is Cod Liver Oil, no joke google it. I cannot believe how much better my skin looks when I take these capsules. I couldn’t bring myself to try the liquid form. The other is the skin care line Paula’s Choice and beautypedia. Slowly but surely I have switched almost all of my skin care products over to her line. If you have skin care problems look into her site beautypedia. You might be amazed, like I was, about how bad some products are for you. Last winter I had bad acne, this winter I don’t. As a bride to be it’s worth looking into.
Well that's it for now. See you next Friday.
